Building & Infrastructure LCA

• NEW! LCA tool compliant with the requirements set by the federal government in Germany for QNG (Qualitätssiegel Nachhaltiges Gebäude), the new seal of the quality of sustainable building in the country. This tool can be used to calculate the LCA for various building types and it includes a government-provided database for materials, energy and default values for building technology systems
• NEW! LCA tool compliant with BR18 regulatory requirements set by Bygningsreglementet in Denmark. The BR18 building regulation requires that all new buildings must document their environmental impact over 50 years. New buildings above 1000 m2 must comply with a limit value of 12kg CO2e/m2/year, and a voluntary low carbon class sets the limit value at 8kg CO2e/m2/year. Includes generic data from BR18 database, standard values for building technology systems and regressive energy scenarios.
• NEW! Major updates to infrastructure LCA tools for EN 17472, PAS 2080 and BREEAM compliance. These include:
  • Adding energy and construction site operation data while adding materials
  • Create groups of materials, add energy and construction site LCA stage impacts, and then save them as private constructions (Expert licence required)
  • Set wastage separately for each material
  • Edit service life for maintenance and repair
  • Use of filters to enter construction site operations and use phase data
  • EPDs with +A2 data in the infrastructure carbon EN 17472 tool
• New generic data including lightweight ready-mix concrete, flooring, raised floor systems, carpet resources, ceramics and 68 constructions specific to the Japan region including foundations, columns, beams, walls, finished, slabs, parapets, staircases, windows and doors.
• Breakdown graph for Life Cycle Cost tools displaying the annual cost throughout the project calculation period
• One Click LCA plugin for Solibri (BETA) is available to selected customers starting June 5th. As this is a completely new plugin, we are initially making this available in a limited BETA. To participate in the BETA program, please contact our Customer Success team at [e-mail]
• One Click LCA plugin for Archicad is available to customers starting June 20th. With the plugin, you can easily transfer bill of materials data from the model open in Archicad to One Click LCA for life cycle assessment. More guidance on this can be found here: ArchiCAD integration
• More information on material data cards in the Revit plugin

Early Design & Eco Design

• NEW! Japan region in Carbon Designer 3D. This new region has been developed in cooperation with Sumitomo and reflects local seismic conditions and current construction practises
• International region is Carbon Designer 3D with EN 15804+A2 data available for more building LCA tools. For a list of tools complaint with EN 15804+A2 data, please refer to our guidance article: Where can EN 15804+A2 data be used?

Product LCA & EPD Software

• NEW! Concrete EPD Generator for easy and cost-effective concrete EPDs at scale. This tool is specifically tailored for concrete and uses lots of automation, templated and pre-verified data to generate fully compliant, third-party verified EPDs and publish them with EPD Hub even without a big budget or lots of experience.
• NEW! A feature to manage manufacturing sites data via the company account page where you can edit descriptive information, manufacturing site energy consumption, waste generation, ancillary materials and product packaging and set the tools that this applies to.
• EPD Generator for IES v2 with Ecoinvent 3.8 data designed to speed up EPD creation. This is currently being verified for approval and customer availability is expected in July 2023
• Other usability improvements for EPD Hub v2 include:
  • Easily downloading EPD results as an Excel file from the results page
  • Option to balance energy impacts in the same LCA stage
