What is the One Click LCA Solibri Integration 2024

It is an advanced tool available within the Solibri Office. The integration includes an environmental profiles database that users can utilize to map project elements at the Solibri level. Additionally, users can export project materials along with their quantities directly to the One Click LCA online platform. This feature was developed with significant contributions from our partners at Harpaceas.

Make sure you have the following before getting started:

To use the integration, ensure you have the following:

The latest version of Solibri Office (currently 24.12).
One Click LCA Integration installed inside Solibri Office (currently 1.5).
A One Click LCA account and license with Business features to import data.

Latest updates: One Click LCA Solibri Integration 2024 v1.5 is now available with the following content:

The "Save configuration" feature was updated to maintain previously assigned mappings also for materials whose quantity has been updated.
Users will receive warnings when the material data in the plugin are outdated and need refreshing, particularly when working with an updated model or adding/removing models.
New user-added columns are automatically populated with the header "ADD PROPERTY” and their header gets updated once a property is selected.
LCA data search now opens with a double-click on "+" button instead of a single click.
Thickness is now shown in millimeters in the interface instead of meters
Incorrect layer thickness export for composite objects has been addressed. The integration will now disregard "VOLUME" and "THICKNESS" for problematic layers. Users can still access and export layer thickness to One Click LCA platform by adding custom columns with desired layer thickness property.
The One Click LCA “SYSTEM” class has been renamed to "SYSTEMS" in the plugin. After this change relevant data will be automatically imported to the correct section.

How do you set up the Solibri Integration?

For Solibri Solution Centre (SSC) users:

Shop for the extension in the Solution Centre

have it assigned by your Solibri admin

For Solibri E-Com users:

The extension is already available in the software and only needs to be installed.

Installation guidance:

Once you open Solibri Office, go to “Solution Center” where you can install the One Click LCA integration..
After installation please restart Solibri Office.
The integration should now appear in the top panel.

If you can't see the One Click LCA integration in Solibri after installing the extension and restarting Solibri Office, follow the steps shown in the image below to set up the integration layout:

Alternatively, you can set up the integration layout yourself including further customisation:

Step 1. Click the '+' button and create a new field named 'One Click LCA'.
Step 2-3. Compose the integration views by clicking the 'Views' button and adding views from available based on your needs. Make sure to include the 'One Click LCA LTD 2024' view.
Step 4-5. Optionally, add any additional windows as desired. The recommended setup includes the 'One Click LCA LTD 2024', 3D and 'Info' views.

How do you use the Solibri Integration?

Once the integration is open, you can:

Navigate between objects within your project.
Add or remove objects to/from the selection basket.
Highlight selected elements in the 3D view for better visualisation.
Customise the 'Material Name' column. Choose what property of an object will be considered as a object's material. This column data will be exported to One Click LCA platform and used to auto map model's materials to environmental profiles.
Add / Remove columns and customise their properties.
Optionally, assign the relevant environmental class for the One Click LCA platform.
Optionally, assign an environmental profile from the One Click LCA database.
Refresh the table and disregard any previously applied settings.
Export the configured materials mapping and quantities to the One Click LCA online platform for LCA calculation.
Export additional columns with customised parameters to One Click LCA platform.
Save or load current customisation including environmental profile assignment, as created by the user.
Search OCLCA resources by the EPD number.

The data displayed in the One Click LCA integration includes the following:

Objects categorised under IFC_CLASS classifications within the project.
Materials linked to these objects.
Quantities of materials read from the original file.
Types of material quantities, such as volume, area, or count.
Thickness information, if applicable.

One Click LCA Solibri integration interface:

Step-by-step instruction for using the One Click LCA Solibri integration:

Open the integration.
Edit LCA Class: Navigate between project objects to access the CLASS column, where you can edit the LCA class. This class is initially mapped by the integration. This is optional step.
Add additional columns that will include Solibri model properties to the export content. This is optional step.
- Click the "+" icon in the top-right menu of the integration interface to add a new column.
- The newly added column will have its header labeled as "ADD PROPERTY" by default.
- Click the header to search and select a property from the available Solibri model properties.
- Once selected, the data rows will automatically populate with the corresponding values.
  Please note: You can only add properties already available in the currently opened Solibri model.
  Example of Solibri model properties: Name, GUID, Type Name, Floor, Component Thickness.

Assign Environmental Profiles: Click the '+' button to open the resource library window. Here, you can assign an environmental profile from the One Click LCA database to each object or group. This assignment will be used for LCA calculations on the online platform. Note that this step is optional, and you can continue the procedure on the platform after exporting the list of materials.

Export Data: When ready to export the data to the One Click LCA online platform, click the 'Export' button. You will then proceed with the mapping process and calculations on the platform. This step initiates the standard import process. Further details about the import process are available in separate articles.

Please note, if the user makes any changes in the model they need to click "Refresh Table" icon in the integration to get the latest project elements displayed.

Solibri classification and rulesets

One Click LCA Solibri integration includes a helpful classification and rulesets presets to simplify model preparation for LCA analysis. While all elements are pre-built into Solibri Office, users must manually add them to their project.

Classifications. Simplify the selection of elements with common parameters, such as those within the same discipline or containing same material. You can access the classification presets by adding new classifications from the resources:

Rulesets. Set of rules that enables users to run multiple checks. For example to identify duplicated elements, elements lacking assigned materials, elements encapsulated by other components. You can access these rulesets by adding new rulesets from the resources:

Known limitations

The "Layer" properties are not supported by the integration

The "layer" properties are not currently supported, but we are working to enable this functionality. Once available, it will allow users to add the 'layer' object property as a custom, user-created column in the plugin and include it in exports to the One Click LCA platform.
