Make sure you have the things listed below before starting:
- Tekla Structures 2016, 2018i, 2019, 2019i, 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023 (latest service pack)
- One Click LCA account and license with Business features to be able to import data
How do you set up the Tekla Structures integration?
Please follow the steps below to install and use the Tekla Structures plugin for Tekla Structures versions 2018 - 2023. It is recommended to update your version of Tekla Structures with the latest service pack.
- Note: Our plugin for Tekla Structures 2016 is still available but no longer supported. You can download it from the attachments on this page.
Where can I download it?
- You can also download the plugin from Tekla Warehouse.
- Additionally, download the One Click LCA plugin for Tekla Structures from the bottom of this page. Make sure you download the file(.tsep) that corresponds to your Tekla Structures version. For example, download “OneClickLCA_Export_2021.0_1.0” if you are using Tekla Structures 2021.
How do I install it?
Double click the downloaded .tsep file and the following window will open. In that window, click “Import” and then “Close”.
In the new window asking if you wish to delete the original extension installer you can choose either option without affecting the installation process.
To complete the installation, please open the Tekla Structures application.
How to use the Tekla Structures Integration?
Once you open Tekla Structures, the plugin will be installed automatically and you will be able to see a new tab called “ONE CLICK LCA”.
Clicking on that tab, you will get two options, the “Send to One Click LCA” and a “Help” buttons.
Before you proceed with opening the plugin make sure you have selected the elements you want to include in your assessment. The selection can be done either by selecting assemblies or objects.
Once you have selected the elements from your model, click on the “Send to One Click LCA” button.
This will open the One Click LCA plugin.
Once the plugin is open, you can click “LCA in Cloud” and this will get the material quantities of all selected elements and send them to Once Click LCA. If you are already logged in to your account it will open the typical import data page in your default web browser, otherwise you will be prompted to login first and then taken to the import data page.
From that point onwards, the importing of data and mapping process works in the same way as all other integrations. You can read more about this process in this article.
Before you click “LCA in Cloud” you also have the option to include any User Defined Attributes (UDAs) in your data import. The available UDAs will be listed in the table on the left. You can choose the ones you need to import one by one or altogether and click on the right arrow in the middle of the window.
The relevant data will be exported together with the material information and will be available by clicking at the page icon in the cloud application similarly to all other integrations.
