- As a reminder, Revit plugin users can get mapping suggestions and carbon impacts by refreshing results within the plugin.
- Please note that AI mappings generated in the plugins can differ from AI mappings generated during the import process as the software has more information regarding your project in the online interface.
- Please note that mappings that are imported by the plugin (including AI mappings) are not overwritten in the import process, as long as the mappings are eligible for the tool you import the data.

How do you set up the Revit® Integration
Where can I download it?
- You can download the plugin directly from the Autodesk® App Store. The plugin is digitally signed by One Click LCA, however, your operating system may ask you to confirm if you wish to proceed with the installation. In such a case, choose Allow / Yes, as applicable.
- For Revit® 2016 and 2017 download: One Click LCA Setup Revit® 2.1
- For Revit® 2018 - 2019 download: One Click LCA Setup Revit® 4.0.7
- For Revit® 2020 - 2025 download: One Click LCA Setup Revit® 4.0.8

Read the tutorial on basic functionalities and test the web interface to explore how the tool works before working in the plug-in and exporting the model to the web interface.
- Step 1: Open your project on Revit®
To be able to isolate objects in the Revit® model using One Click LCA Add-in, please make sure that you are in 3D view. The view can be selected by navigating to the View tab and pressing on “3D view” as seen in the screenshot.
- Step 2: Click “LCA in Autodesk® Revit®' or 'LCA in Cloud'.
“LCA in Autodesk® Revit®”: Allows editing plugin settings and starting your work inside Revit® before exporting, or working purely inside Revit®.
“LCA in Cloud”: Exports quantities directly with default settings to the One Click LCA platform.
- Step 3: If you have chosen “LCA in Autodesk® Revit®”, start by logging in and reviewing the plugin settings. Please note, since the introduction of SSO login, several changes were made to the API authentication. In addition, the SSO login also affects when logging in to a plugin, such as Revit®. You should now use a temporary password when logging into the plugin, along with your One Click LCA username. Guidance on this can be found here: How To Login To Your Import Plugin
In this tab, you can select the following items.

Database to be used (for CML select 'European and global data' for TRACI select 'North American', the other databases are specific to regulatory calculation tools. Please note that PEF data can only be used in a limited number of tools, which means selecting it as the 'used database' may not result in mapped data.
- Scope of the model, the default option is only 'Building' elements.
- Splitting family types or not, most importantly decide if you wish to split objects (families) into materials or not. For a less detailed model, It is strongly suggested that you select to not split the objects and instead use the whole objects and their area and map them to constructions or EPDs that represent composite products (eg external walls or slabs).
- Units, choose Metric or Imperial based on your model
Besides the options, you can add any additionally exported parameters and adjust the scope grouping if required.
- Step 4: Review and adjust the Models tab
In the 'Models' tab, you can define the phases and linked models that shall be accounted for in the assessment. The current phase is selected by default, and the selection allows only one phase at a time to avoid duplicate materials exporting. If you use a linked model, please make sure it is defined which model is chosen, and select or de-select models if needed. Additionally, you can continue with the 'Active View' selected, or continue with 'Selected Elements'.
- Step 5: Review the detailed scope tab
In the 'Detailed Scope' tab, you can further adjust for each individual object whether it shall be included in the assessment or not if it shall be broken down into materials or kept as a composite object, and last, what shall be the default units for each building part or object.
- Step 6: Review materials in the 'Materials' tab, and Map them (Optional)
If you wish to assign materials to specific rows, you should:
- Select the row(s) you wish to map by clicking on it or using the shift or ctrl key to select multiple. These should then be highlighted in green.
- Search in the search bar and apply your filters if you want to narrow down material options further.
- When you find the resource you wish to map to the row, double-click on the name found in the search results and it will be applied to that row. These mappings will then be included when you continue the import process by clicking LCA in Cloud.
To generate automated mappings inside the plugin (Expert feature), users need to first log in (at the Login tab) and then navigate to the Results tab.
- Mapping can additionally be done in the web interface, after the export.
- The updated material list and most updated choices for mappings in the plugin can be exported at any time by clicking the “LCA in Cloud” button inside the plugin.
- Remember that you can use the “Isolate Materials” feature to understand which Revit® element is each material row referring to.
- Show “Show data card” feature enables you to see the details of the selected environmental profile (need to be logged in).
Please mind that in the online interface some mappings might change depending on the tool that you select to import the data to, and the allowed data for that specific tool.
- Step 7: Generate results (Expert Feature, optional)
See the 'Results', 'Chart', and 'Benchmark' tabs to analyze your design carbon impacts.
- Step 8: Export your model data
Click 'LCA in Cloud' to export your model to the One Click LCA web interface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I uninstall an old version of the Revit® plug-in?
A: The Revit® plug-in can be uninstalled from the Control Panel> Programs> Programs and Features> 'Uninstall or change a program' section of your PC settings.
Q: My computer's settings don't allow me to run the plug-in installer file after it has been downloaded. What should I do?
Q: Can the Revit save file be shared between users?
A: Yes, the file can be saved and sent to a colleague who, when this is loaded to the plugin, the same settings will be applied.
Q: Can the saved file setting be applied to other projects?
A: Yes, the settings and materials (if all conditions are met) will be used if the file is loaded. For this to be successful the naming of the Revit material will need to match that used in the previous project.
Q: After installing the plugin, when I click on the 'LCA in Autodesk Revit' icon to launch it, nothing happens. The plugin window fails to appear, leaving me unable to access its features.
A: In certain instances, the plugin may become docked to the top panel, situated just below the plugin icons. You can drag it and extend the plugin window size accordingly.
Q: How can I add Revit plugin parameter values to the "Comment" field on the One Click LCA platform input page?
A: The new import process in One Click LCA platform offers enhanced flexibility by allowing users to map imported parameters to specific One Click LCA inputs. To assign a Revit parameter to the “Comment” field in the One Click LCA platform's input page:
1. Simply add the desired Revit parameter for export in the plugin or use default parameters.
2. During the import process, map this parameter to the “Comment” column in the data import process.
3. Once data is imported, the “Comment” field in the "Building Materials" input page will be populated with your chosen Revit parameter, like own comments from plugin, Family, Type, Type comment or others.
Q: I am getting Error message then trying to obtain Results in Revit Plugin: "An error occurred. Please repair your installation. Error Code 58252"
A: Accessing results in the Revit plugin is not included in your current license. Please contact One Click LCA to upgrade your license or add this feature in your trial.
Q: Why are my plugin database settings not applied during LCA calculations inside the Revit plugin?
A: The database settings inside the plugin apply only to manual mappings assigned by the user within the plugin.
The results generated in the plugin prioritize user-assigned mappings. If no mapping is assigned by the user, the logic applies automated mappings generated by our platform. These automated mappings do not follow the plugin’s database filtering or the user's specific licensed calculation tools. LCA calculations in the plugin are based on a combined tool that uses the full One Click LCA resource database.
Q: Why are my assigned mappings in the plugin ignored later in the import process on the One Click LCA website?
A: The plugin allows users to specify database settings and assign resources within the plugin. Users can then export a bill of materials (BOM) that links Revit materials with assigned One Click LCA environmental profiles.
During the import process on One Click LCA platform, the user selects a calculation tool, which operates within a specific EPD database. To ensure compatibility, user-assigned resources must align with the licensed calculation tools.
If a mapped resource is not compatible with the selected tool, it may be ignored, and automated mappings relevant to the tool will be assigned during the import process.
Q: How can I link a classification from a Revit parameter with the "Company Classification" column on the One Click LCA platform?
A:
1. Ensure your Private Classification is set up on One Click LCA. Refer to the Private Classifications article for guidance.
2. In the Revit plugin, add an additional parameter where the classification will be stored. Ensure the values match the "Answer ID" of the Private Classification. Please note that the plugin supports Revit "Type" and "Material" parameters. Instance parameters are not supported.
3. Verify that the added parameter appears in the Materials tab in the Revit plugin
4. Click "LCA in Cloud" to export the bill of materials from Revit to One Click LCA.
5. Download the exported Excel file during the import stage. Rename the column header for the exported parameter to "ORGANIZATIONSPECIFICCLASSIFICATION".
7. Select "Import from Excel" instead of using Revit integration. The Company Classification column will now be linked to the imported data.
Q: Why are there discrepancies in data when comparing IFC files exported from Revit with native Revit files?

The One Click LCA Revit plugin reads data directly from the model and is not specifically optimized for IFC files. When working with IFC models instead of native Revit files, discrepancies in quantities, such as material attributes, area, or volume, may arise. These differences occur due to variations in how Revit and IFC handle data and how it's exported/imported. It's important to note that the plugin does not cause any data loss; it simply reads the data available in the model. Any inconsistencies are most likely due to how the IFC file was processed during export or import. For best results it is recommended to use Revit native files when using One Click LCA Revit integration
