We review, verify, curate and integrate data from a huge range of public and private sources to the One Click LCA database in order to give you access to the largest database of environmental construction data in the world. We update the EPD database every week, with an average of 300 new data points a week.
How can I find if an EPD is already included in the database?
If you want to find out if your EPD is already included you can take the following steps.
- Search directly for the EPD number
- Search directly for the product name
- Search directly for the manufacturer's name
Additionally, you can use the filter settings to narrow down the search.
- Use the filter feature and select 'Filter data' from the Building materials input for
- Select your material type from the first filter
- Check which is the provider of your EPD, filter data by 'Data source', and select your EPD provider
- Click the arrow next to the material resource field
- If the selection is too long, type the manufacturer or the product name in the resource field.
From the list of EPDs, you should now find the one you are searching for!
If you have searched for the EPD number, product name, and manufacturer name and you have used the filter settings but you still could not find the EPD, please forward the URL or the pdf file of your EPD to support. We will check the quality of the EPD and include it in our database.
- Please note that all the EPDs in our database have been through rigorous quality control. It might be that the EPD you are searching for does not follow the specific standards which are required for the tool you are using and cannot, therefore, be used.
Frequently asked questions on finding EPDs
I chose filters for the EPD database and country, but now it seems there are no EPDs available
If you select your material EPD database and also your country, it might happen that no EPDs are shown. This can happen as many big EPD publishers also produce EPDs for products that are not manufactured in the country where they operate.
For example, many of the materials published in EPD Norge are not manufactured in Norway. Therefore, if you double-filter by database and country you will see a very limited number of EPDs. If no EPDs are available with this double filtering criteria, we recommend removing the country filter and using only the database filter.
We always recommend that you use EPDs that more accurately describe your product instead of generic data, even if the product is not manufactured in your country. Once all your materials have been entered, we have a local compensation tool available for most indicators, which allows you to use EPD data from other countries and adjust it to your local manufacturer’s conditions. This local compensation mechanism has been approved by BRE and it allows you to calculate LCA anywhere in the world, even if your country does not have an EPD database.
If there are no EPDs available in the filtered EPD database, we advise removing the database filter and starting by using the country filter and then adding the material category filter. If no EPDs are found, you can use the generic data.
I know my manufacturer/product, how do I find out if they have an EPD?
If you know the manufacturer of your building product, you can find it by writing down the manufacturer/product name in the resource field.
I know the material type but not the manufacturer, how do I search?
You can filter by material type. If there are too many EPDs for the product you are looking for, you can also further narrow down the results by applying the country filter as well. Once you have a smaller selection of EPDs available, select the EPD which most accurately describes your product (you can see the technical data listed after the product name).
