The Biodiversity Net Gain tool provides lot of information on the results page. The results summary table provides a breakdown of biodiversity units achieved for each habitat type and intervention for on- and off-site. This breakdown view is useful for seeing the individual units each habitat has achieved, which can be found by clicking Details in the relevant category.
The units in this breakdown cannot be summed to provide a total net gain result. Instead, the two tables below provide the net change in units for on- and off-site individually and the total net change in units for the project, respectively.
The net change in units can be represented as a percentage change by dividing by the relevant baseline units and multiplying by 100. If calculating percentage change for on- and off-site separately, divide by the appropriate baseline units. If calculating percentage change for the project as a whole, divide the net change only by the baseline units. The table below shows the results for habitats from the screenshots above represented as percentage change.
Result category | Biodiversity units | Percentage change |
On-site habitat change | -6.29 | -27.3% |
Off-site habitat change | 12.63 | 40.7% |
Habitat net change | 6.35 | 27.6% |
