We're thrilled to announce the launch of our redesigned data input page! This beta version offers a smoother, faster, and more simplified LCA experience.

New Features

Enhanced Data Management: A brand-new table allows you to easily manage data through hiding, rearranging, sorting, filtering, and grouping columns. You can also resize columns and wrap text for better readability.
Improved Resource Search: A separate search overlay provides a faster and more efficient way to add and compare resources. You can now add multiple resources simultaneously, apply multiple filters, and sort search results.
Easier Navigation: A new side panel allows for easy navigation and data management. The "Breadcrumbs" component enables seamless switching between designs and tools within a project.
Improved Performance: Instant save functionality and other performance enhancements ensure a smoother and faster experience, even with large designs.

Important Notes

Some features (e.g., replacing resources, and importing data) are not yet available in the beta version but will be added gradually. You can switch back to the old interface if needed.
Carbon impact values are not displayed on the input page yet, but you can view them on the Results page.
To access the new interface, click "Yes" in the pop-up when opening a design or click the "New interface" button on the old data input page.

Navigate to the new interface through the popup (above) or click on the 'new interface' button (below).

Key Improvements and How to Use Them

Side Panel:

Access relocated query tabs (e.g., "Calculation Period") in the side panel for easier access.
Collapse the side panel to provide more space for the resource table.
Adjust the panel width by dragging its border.

Column Management:

Hide Columns: Click "Columns" on the right-hand side of the table or use the column's sandwich menu to hide unnecessary columns. Drag a column off the table to hide it.

Rearrange Columns: Drag the column header to the desired position in the table or use the "Columns" slider.
Resize Columns: Manually drag the column border or use the auto-size options in the sandwich menu. Double-click a column's right-hand border to auto-size it.

Pin Columns: Pin columns to the left by using the pin icon in the column header or by dragging the column header to the left edge of the table.

Grouping Data:

Drag the column header to the "Drag here to set row groups" area at the top left corner of the table.

Alternatively, access the sandwich menu of the column and click the "Group by" option.

To ungroup, click the "x" in the group badge.

Sorting Data:

Click the column header to sort data. Click again to reverse the sort order and a third time to remove sorting.

Filtering Data:

Access the sandwich menu of the column and go to the "Filter" tab to filter data. Different columns have different filter types.

Copying Data:

Drag the fill handle (small blue square) at the bottom right corner of a cell to copy and paste the value to multiple rows.

Wrapping Data:

Access the sandwich menu of the column and select the "Wrap text" option to wrap text within a column.

Particularly useful for columns with long content such as “Resource name”:

Switching Designs or Tools:

Click on the triangle at the top of the page to switch between designs or tools within the same project

Constructions

Creating Constructions:

Select the constituent materials in a question view (e.g., "External walls and facade").
Click the "Create construction" button to open the editor and define the construction.

Ungrouping Construction:

Right-click the construction row in the table and select "Ungroup construction."

Deleting Multiple Materials:

Select the resource rows you want to delete.
Click the "Delete" button that appears above the table.

Improved Resource Search:

Click the "Add resource" button on the query page to access the search overlay.

Use the search bar and filters to find resources.
Manage the search results table by pinning, hiding, and sorting columns.
Select multiple resources and click "Add resources" to add them to your design.

Click the full-screen icon to use the search overlay in full-screen mode.

Replacing resources:

To replace a resource right-click a resource row and select "Replace resource":

In the replacement overlay, search for desired replacement resource and once done click "Replace with this resource". To replace all similar resources in your design at the same time, don't forget to put a checkmark next to "Replace all":

Switching Back to the Old Interface

Click the "Old interface" button on the query page. Your changes will be saved. Note that this option might be restricted depending on your license.

Limitations

Some features from the old page are not yet supported.
Sorting and filtering are limited for some columns.
Large designs (over 500 resources) created in the new interface might not load correctly in the old interface.

Future Plans

We plan to roll out the new interface for most other tools during 2024-2025 based on user feedback.

Troubleshooting

The beta version is available to users with supported tools and a "metric" unit system.
Ensure your unit system and language information are correctly set in your user account.
